Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) today stageded black flag protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his visit for murdering democracy by disqualifying former Congress MP and Party Chief Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case.

A number of TNCC workers, wearoing black shirts, staged the protest in front of Valluvar Kottam.

Terming it as an vindictive act of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre, Congress Legislature Party Leader K.Selvaperunthagai said the protests was to condemn the vindictive act of Mr Modi, was was not prepared to answer to the questions raised by Mr Rahul.

Though the Sriperumbudur MLA in a tweet said balloons with the slogan ‘Go back Modi’ will be released during his visit, police took steps to prevent it.
