Jerusalem: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Saturday “the time has come for action” to put an end to the crisis in the Gaza Strip caused by the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

“The time has come for action. Action to end this God-awful nightmare. And actions to build the future worthy of the dreams of the children of Palestine, Israel, the region and our world,” Guterres said at the Cairo Peace Summit.

He also called for an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages and reiterated the need for the two-state solution to the conflict.
