Washington: The US Air Force is going to order nearly $140 million in special ammunition from Global Military Products and Northrop Grumman Systems, the Department of Defense announced in a press release.
“Global Military Products [of] Tampa, Florida and Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation [of] Radford, Virginia will compete for each order of the $133.9 million …contract for special ammunition and weapons systems requirements,” the release said on Wednesday.
Work on the orders will take nine months to complete, with an estimated finish date of November 19, 2024.
The US Army Contracting Command based at Rock Island Arsenal in the state of Illinois will supervise work on the production as the contracting activity, the Defense Department added.
