Warrant issued against actor Zareen Khan

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Zareen Khan was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by a court in Kolkata.

This was in relation to a purported cheating case that started in 2018.

She reportedly had the charge sheet against her filed before the Sealdah court by the investigating officer, but she didn’t ask for bail or show up in court.

According to sources, the court issued an arrest order for her as a result of her frequent absences.

It now looks to be the consequence of some miscommunication, according to a statement made by Zareen’s attorney, Rizwan Siddiquee.

According to reports, the actress was slated to perform in 2018 at a Durga Puja event in Kolkata.

She did not, however, show up. Now, her attorney Rizwan Siddiquee clarified the situation, saying, “I, for and on behalf of my client Ms. Zareen Khan, would like to categorically place on record as follows: that any warrant “inadvertently issued” by the Ld. Magistrate against my client, grossly appears to be the result of “some miscommunication,” as my client had consistently been granted protection by the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta in the said matter.

According to the explanation provided by Zareen’s attorney, she was allegedly duped into believing that the Kali Puja event was being organised by the West Bengal government through the Chief Minister, the Sports Minister, and the Ex-Sports Minister.

He asserted that Zareen discovered the “fraud” when she was already at the airport waiting to board a flight to Kolkata because she had been forced to arrive “totally unescorted.”

Zareen allegedly understood the organizers were “fooling her through criminal impersonation” at that point, according to the lawyer.

Alongside Salman Khan, Zareen Khan made her Bollywood debut in the 2010 movie Veer.

Additionally, she has acted in movies like Housefull 2 and Hate Story 3, among others.

Zareen has also dabbled in Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi films.
