On Saturday morning, wanted Khalistani terrorist Paramjit Singh Panjwar, aged 63, was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Pakistan’s Lahore. The gunmen managed to shoot Panjwar in the head when he was walking, along with his guard, in the park of the Sun Flower Housing Society, where he lived. The two attackers then escaped on a motorcycle. Panjwar was declared dead on arrival at the hospital while the condition of the guard is reportedly critical.

After this killing, it is important to know who Paramjit Singh Panjwar was and why this killing is of importance from India’s point of view. Panjwar was the leader of the banned Khalistani outfit- Khalistan Commando Force- Panjwar Group, and was involved in drugs and weapons smuggling and other terror activities. He was designated as a terrorist by India under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in July, 2010.

Hailing from Tarn Taran district, Punjab, he had joined the KCF in the year 1986, and later, leading the terrorist outfit, moved to Pakistan. It was Pakistan’s Lahore that Panjwar was operating from, arranging arms training for youths in Pakistan. As per reliable sources, he was actively involved in smuggling drugs and arms not only to the state of Punjab, but all across India, adversely affecting the lives of innumerable youths in the country. He was also involved in broadcasting seditious content against the government of India and separatist programmes.

Now, with this notorious terrorist killed in Lahore, it is noteworthy that while such separatist elements work actively against India, being hand in glove with Pakistan, and follow the ‘Bleed India with a thousand cuts’ doctrine of the terrorist nation, its military and the ISI, they are ‘done away with’, as soon as nefarious beings in Pakistan reckon that these puppets are no longer needed to serve them.
