60 per cent of all cases so far have been reported just in the past month: Dr Tedros

Geneva: At a time when most countries around the world are moving towards relaxing its lockdown restrictions in an effort to bring back normalcy, the World Health Organisation (WHO) sounds off a cautious alarm.

“60 per cent of all cases so far have been reported just in the past month,” alerted Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General, WHO. He further added that for the past week, the number of new cases have exceeded 160,000 on every single day.

WHO reports show that globally 10.3 million people have been infected with COVID-19 and more than 506,000 people have died due the coronavirus.
