Fake currency producers arrested from Punjab

The chief of a fake currency notes syndicate, Sandeep Mehra Sardar and his accomplice, Jaspreet alias Jassa, were arrested from Patiala, Punjab, while producing fake currency notes. Sandeep had learnt making fake notes by watching videos on Youtube and he has studied till the 12th standard, and is a factory worker by profession.

Sandeep and Jaspreet have, till now, supplied fake notes worth crores, in many states including UP, Delhi, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. Police found fake notes worth Rs. 1.77 lakhs, a fake note printer, ink to make fake notes, fake security thread, a cutter machine, a laptop and other equipment, possessed by the culprits.

As per SHO Kailash Yadav, Sandeep Mehra Sardar works at a factory in Nala Sangruya. He learnt making fake notes through Youtube videos and then rented a room in Century Colony and made Jaspreet, his friend belonging in the same village as him, his accomplice. Jaspreet is a veterinary compounder. Both the culprits were making and supplying fake currency notes for the last 6-7 months.

“The two produced fake notes at night after receiving the orders and asked for a period of two days if the demand was higher”, SHO Yadav revealed.

The culprits got the idea of the police coming to nab them and therefore, they had started cutting the fake notes to destroy them but before it could be completely done, police reached Century Colony and arrested the culprits while they were cutting the notes.
