NFDC organises poster design contest on Satyajit Ray

Kolkata: The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has opened entries for an online poster design contest as a tribute to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the nation’s 75th Independence anniversary celebration.

The contest, with the theme of “The One and Only Ray” is open only to Indian nationals anywhere in the world, 18 years or above in age, an NFDC release said.

NFDC is the organiser of the contest in association with Routes 2 Roots NGO.

The submission of entries opened on September 8, and the last date to join the contest is September 23. The link for submitting entries is https://postercontest.iffigoa.org/

Creative professionals with the knowledge of art, visual communication as well as graphic design and illustrative skills, who are adept at using digital tools of creative rendition are eligible to participate in the contest.

A jury of experts from various fields including applied art and digital painting will evaluate the contest. The winning design will be awarded a cash price of Rs 1 lakh.

The first and second runner-ups will be given Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.

Seventy two selected participants shall receive certificates of appreciation.

The winning designs will be displayed for general viewing at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28, the release said.
