The protest movement against the hijab continues in Iran even after 100 days, and the government is trying to curb the protestors, on the other hand, the protestors are not ready to step back. Protest demonstrations were carried out in multiple places in Iran on Sunday, in which the women raised slogans saying, “We will not cow down even if our lives are lost”. Support for these women is increasing by the day, looking at their enthusiasm. Along with human rights workers, lawyers and celebrities have also come out on the streets to protest against the hijab.

In the meanwhile, the grotesque face of Iran has also come to the fore. The 15th Bench of the Revolutionary Court has announced 10 years of prison for a 25-year-old woman who had removed her hijab during the protests on 17th October, and she is accused of promoting prostitution and corruption.

At this point, the anti-hijab protests have become the longest running demonstrations after the 1979 Islamic revolution. Before this, in the last 5 years, 2 other demonstrations had also taken place, but they were curbed. The demonstrations which had begun towards the end of 2017 had continued till the beginning of 2018. In November 2019, women had once again protested, asking for freedom to live as they wanted, and it was supported by some celebrities, due to which, either they were thrown out of the country or were arrested.
