Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday thanked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for extending invitation to participate in ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and extended his best wishes for the success of ‘Bharat Jodo’ campaign.

Akhilesh has written a letter to Rahul in this regard. “Thank you for the invitation for ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and best wishes for the success of ‘Bharat Jodo’ campaign,” he has said in his letter.

The SP chief has stated, “India is more than a geographical extension, in which love, non-violence, compassion, cooperation and harmony are the only positive elements that unite India. Hope this yatra will achieve its goal with the aim of preserving this inclusive culture of our country.”

It may be noted that Bharat Jodo Yatra is scheduled to enter Uttar Pradesh via the Loni border in Ghaziabad on Tuesday.

Congress state spokesman Uma Shankar Pandey said that prominent opposition leaders, including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary, Shivpal Singh and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar have been invited to participate in the yatra.
