MLAs of all parties should cooperate for Lokayukta Bill: Fadnavis

Mumbai: Maharashtra State Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis appealed to all party MLAs to cooperate and pass Lokayukta bill unanimously in state assembly.

He was speaking on last night at a press conference on the eve of state assembly budget session.

Mr Fadnavis said that Three bills are pending and seven proposed in the budget session. It has a pending Lokayukta bill, this is an important bill which will bring transparency in the working.

Therefore, all party MLAs to cooperate and pass Lokayukta bill unanimously.

Mr Fadnavis further said, the economic survey report will be presented on March 8 and the budget will be presented on March 9. This budget is going to be in the interest of the people. He also said that the opposition party should understand the budget and then give a response.

Onion producing farmer Rajendra Chavan of Zadi Borgaon Taluka Barshi received a cheque of Rs 2 after Deducting transportation expenses.Transport expenses are not deductible as per government decision of 2014. Therefore, the license of Surya Traders has been cancelled,said Mr Fadnavis.

Onion was being exported to neighboring countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. But here, due to shortage of foreign currency, their buying and selling has reduced. Therefore, the price of onion exported from our country is low. But the state government is sensitive to the problems of onion producers.

Mr. Fadnavis also said that the help of external experts is being sought to find the culprit in the murder of journalist Shashikant Warise, he added.
