On Sunday, June 11, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, addressing a public gathering at the AAP ‘Maha Rally’, organized at the Ramlila Maidan, said that the central government’s ordinance (which states that the decision of the Delhi LG will be final as far as control over the bureaucrats and their transfers is concerned) has insulted the vote of the people of Delhi. He added that the ordinance states that there will be no democracy in Delhi, and said that this was an insult to Delhi’s people.

Kejriwal went on and said that there will be ‘dictatorship’ in the national capital, and added that while people can vote for any party they like, the Centre will run Delhi. He alleged that Delhi was the first to be attacked, and similar ordinances will be brought in other states of the country as well. He further stated that such ordinances will be brought in the state of Rajasthan as well.

“I have been travelling across the country, and I want to assure the people of Delhi that they are not alone. The 140 crore people of India are with them”, said the Delhi CM.

Talking about the arrests of AAP leaders Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia, the AAP National Convenor expressed that they were arrested in order to stop works in the national capital, and added, “We have 100 Sisodias and 100 Jains, they will continue the good work”. Kejriwal further said, “I want to ask that PM Modi has been in power as the CM of Gujarat and then as the Prime Minister for long, and Kejriwal has been in power for 8 years, who has done more work for the people?”
