On Sunday, July 30, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Congress-led government did not do anything for the poor of the country in the 70 years of its rule, and hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the messiah of the poor. Shah was addressing the gathering of BJP workers at the ‘Vijay Sankalp Sammelan’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.

Denouncing former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Congress leader Kamal Nath, Shah said that his government had stopped 51 schemes in the state, which were launched by the earlier BJP governments for the welfare of the poor. ‘Today, PM Modi is known as the messiah of the poor across the country, due to the welfare works he has done for the poor people. The Congress government which ruled the country for 70 years, did not do anything for the poor.’, stated the union home minister.

He further expressed, ‘The Congress pampered Article 370 like its own child, but PM Modi revoked it and linked Kashmir with India. Can anyone vote for Congress which opposed the revocation of Article 370 by PM Modi?’

Talking about the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls, and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Shah stated, ‘People of Madhya Pradesh ensured BJP’s victory in 27 Lok Sabha seats in 2014. In 2019, they handed 28 out of the 29 LS seats to BJP. In 2024, give all 29 seats to Modi ji.’ He expressed confidence that the BJP will retain power in the MP Assembly elections as well.

Commending the BJP workers in MP, Shah said that even though he visited the entire country, but found the BJP organization in MP to be the best.
