San Francisco: US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping are planning to hold a bilateral meeting on November 15 in San Francisco, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported on Wednesday, citing a senior US official.
The official told the news agency that the two sides were making final preparations for the meeting that would take place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week. However, China has not yet officially confirmed Xi’s participation in the summit, Kyodo reported.
Last week, White House Deputy Press Secretary Emilie Simons said that the United States and China had agreed in principle to hold a meeting between Biden and Xi on the margins of the APEC summit in San Francisco.
