New Delhi: The BJP-led Central government on Saturday said it was ready for discussions on all issues in a structured debate in the winter session of Parliament.
“The government is ready for discussions on all the issues in a structured debate,” Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi told media persons after an all-party meeting convened here ahead of the winter session of Parliament,
The winter session of Parliament, slated to begin on December 4, will continue til December 22. There will be 15 sittings.
The all-party meeting was convened to seek cooperation from political parties to ensure the smooth functioning of both the Houses of Parliament during the session.
Joshi said the government urged all parties to cooperate in the smooth functioning of the two Houses.
The meeting was attended by 30 leaders from 23 political parties.
The meeting was attended by senior leaders like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Gaurav Gogoi, and Pramod Tiwari, Trinamool leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, NCP leader Fouzia Khan, and RSP leader N K Premachandran among others.
There are currently 37 bills pending in Parliament, out of which 12 are listed for consideration and passing, and seven legislations are slated for introduction, consideration, and passing.
