Tokyo: Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa will visit Sweden and the Netherlands on Wednesday as part of her ongoing multinational tour aimed at boosting security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

Kamikawa will meet with her Swedish counterpart, Tobias Billstrom, in Stockholm, to reiterate Japan’s opposition to Russia’s actions in Ukraine and its support for Kiev. Other topics will reportedly include the Arctic and women’s participation in peace-building and security, issues on which the Japanese foreign minister has focused since the beginning of her tenure.

Later on Wednesday, Kamikawa is expected to travel to the Netherlands, where she will visit the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice in The Hague. There she will reportedly call for more countries to join the two international bodies, emphasizing the importance of maintaining international order based on the rule of law.

Kamikawa will stay in the Netherlands until Thursday, after which she will move on with her tour.
