In Madhya Pradesh’s Khajuraho, 2000 dancers gave a Kathak performance together, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Western Group of Temples. This feat can now be included in the Guiness Book of World Records. The magnificent dance performance took place in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Mohan Yadav.
At 7 PM in the evening, CM Yadav will kickstart the 50th edition of the Khajuraho Dance Festival, and this ‘golden anniversary’ of the event will be celebrated in an extravagant manner by the cultural department.
The Khajuraho Dance Festival was started in the year 1975, and once again, the World Heritage Site of Khajuraho will hear the echoes of the gracious performances of traditional dance from 7 PM on February 20, 2024. The Khajuraho Dance Festival is organised annually by the Cultural Department, through the Ustad Alauddin Khan Music and Art Academy, Bhopal, in partnership with the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department and the Archaeological Survey of India.
This festival will carry on till February 26, on an open-air stage between the Chandel-era Kandariya Mahadev Mandir, and the Devi Jagdamba Mandir, situated on the Western Group of Temples premises.
