J&K: Gunfight in Doda, bravehearts injured

Jammu: The jawans of Indian Army have suffered injuries in an ensuing gunfight on Monday evening in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by #IndianArmy and JKP was in progress in General area North of #Doda,” White KnightCorps posted on X.

It posted, “Contact with terrorists was established tonight at about 2100h in which heavy firefight ensued. Initial reports suggest injuries to our bravehearts.”

Additional troops have been moved into the area. Operations are continuing, it posted.

Earlier sources said that the terrorists fired at the security forces during a search operation in the Uradbagi area of Desa village, adding, “the search party effectively retaliated to the firing and the encounter started.”

The area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been initiated to trace the terrorists, they added.

On July 9, a gunfight broke out between security forces and a group of terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

On July 8, five army jawans were martyred and as many suffered injuries in a gunfight triggered after terrorists attacked the truck in village Badnote of Lohai block in Machhedi area of Kathua district.

On June 11-12, Doda district was rocked by twin terror attacks.

Six security personnel were injured when terrorists attacked a joint check post at Chattargalla on June 11 and a police personnel was injured in a gunfight with terrorists at Kota top in the Gandoh area on June 12.

On June 26, three terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in a forest area in the Doda district.
