Air Marshal Mohan reviews passing-out parade at AFTC, honours top graduates

Bengaluru: Air Marshal CR Mohan, Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance (AOM) of the Indian Air Force, reviewed the ceremonial Passing-Out Parade (POP) of the 103rd Aeronautical Engineering Course (AEC) at the Air Force Technical College (AFTC) on Saturday.

The parade marked the culmination of 62 weeks of intensive training, with over 60 engineering officers, including 15 women and 10 officers from friendly foreign countries, graduating from the college.

Air Marshal Mohan, who also serves as the Commodore Commandant of AFTC, was welcomed by Air Commodore Ashutosh Shrivastava, Commandant of the college, as he took the salute from the newly commissioned officers.

Among the top honours of the day, Flying Officer Arpit Tiwary received the prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ for securing first place in the overall order of merit.

Flying Officer P Divya Bharathi was awarded the ‘President’s Plaque’ for excellence in professional subjects, while Flying Officer Shreeya Hemant Sail and Flying Officer Shivi Singh earned the ‘Chief of Air Staff Medals’ for topping the electronics and mechanical streams, respectively.

Addressing the graduates, Air Marshal Mohan highlighted the critical role of engineering officers in ensuring the seamless availability of aircraft and weapon systems. He urged the newly commissioned officers to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge to meet professional challenges while maintaining a healthy work-life balance
