SCR GM presents Employee of the Month Safety Awards to 13 members

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Arun Kumar Jain presented “Employee of the Month” safety awards for the months of October & November to 13 employees during a safety review meeting held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

The Employee of the Month awards are given to the staff who have shown alertness and dedication to the duty of preventing unsafe conditions.

SCR Additional General Manager Neeraj Agrawal participated in the meeting on Monday along with all the Principal Heads of Departments.

Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions — Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded—joined the review meeting through video conference.

General Manager presented the “Employee of the month” safety awards to the staff pertaining to Secunderabad Division – 4, Vijayawada Division –2, Guntakal Division – 5, Guntur Division – 1 and Nanded Division –1 for showing alertness and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions.

The employees belong to various categories like loco pilots, Station Masters, and Technicians etc. The General Manager congratulated the awardees and appreciated them for their commitment in performing their duties with utmost dedication.

During the meeting, Arun Kumar released a booklet on the disaster response and recovery strategies adopted by South Central Railway during the monsoon season in Kazipet – Vijayawada section during the months of August-September, 2024.

The General Manager stated that the purpose of the booklet was not only to highlight the innovative methods utilised by the zone to tackle the turbulent weather patterns but also to serve as a point of reference and help the future generations during such crisis situations.

Later, the General Manager held a detailed review on the safety of train operations across the zone.

He examined the status of ongoing safety drives and advised the officials that deficiencies, if any, should be rectified at the earliest.

He also reviewed the stock position of fog safety devices over the zone and instructed the officials to ensure sufficient stocks in view of the foggy weather conditions.

He also discussed the crew working hours and instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to meticulously plan on proper rest to be given to the crew members.

Further, Arun Kumar Jain reviewed the progress of Road Under Bridge (RUB)/Road Over Bridge (ROB) works across the zone.

He examined the division-wise details and advised the officials to further speed up the works so as to achieve the targets set for the year.
