US NSA Jake Sullivan to visit India: MEA

New Delhi: US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will be visiting India to meet Indian counterpart NSA Ajit Doval said the Ministry of External Affairs here on Friday.

Addressing a weekly press conference, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal says, “US NSA Jake Sullivan is going to visit India, and he will meet his Indian counterpart NSA Ajit Doval.”

He further added, “This relationship is so strong that continuous discussions keep happening between the two countries, and the discussion will take place on various topics between Jake Sullivan and Ajit Doval.”

On President-elect Donald Trump, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have a very deep connection with the US; we have a strategic partnership, and in the last few years, this relationship has strengthened further. With the new Trump administration, we would like to work strongly.”.

On being asked about H1B visas, Randhir Jaiswal says, “India and the US have a strong and growing economic and technological partnership, and within this ambit, the mobility of skilled professionals is an important component in this ambit and this collaboration.”.

“India-US economic types benefit a lot from the technical expertise provided by skilled professionals, with both sides leveraging their strengths and competitive value. We look forward to further deepening India-US economic ties, which are to our mutual benefit,” he added.

On Tuesday, US President-elect Donald Trump stated that he has not changed his stance on H-1B visas, stressing the need for skilled workers in the nation.

The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in speciality occupations requiring theoretical or technical expertise.
