Bengaluru: In a significant political development, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara is set to host a dinner for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) legislators on Wednesday, at a hotel in Bengaluru.

The event, which will be attended by prominent MLAs and MLCs, including Social Welfare Minister Dr HC Mahadevappa, Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna, and PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi, is part of a broader political strategy to consolidate support within the SC/ST communities.

Party insiders suggest that the dinner is a key move in a larger ‘mega plan’ to counter the influence of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The meeting comes in the aftermath of Dr Parameshwara’s arrival from Malaysia.

The dinner, which has reportedly been approved by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, signals a concerted effort by Dr Parameshwara and his allies to strengthen their position within the ruling Congress party. The event is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the political narrative as the state heads into upcoming elections.

The political maneuvering surrounding the event highlights the ongoing power struggle within the Karnataka government, with various factions jockeying for influence. Further developments are awaited as the dinner draws closer.
