The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, for questioning on Sunday, 16th April, at 11 AM, in the liquor excise policy case. This development has taken place after AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has already been imprisoned in this matter, along with several arrests made by the investigative agencies.

Prior to this, on Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had told a Delhi court that Sisodia had planted fake emails to show that the liquor policy had the approval of the public. This submission was made by the ED to Special Judge MK Nagpal while the agency was opposing the bail application of the jailed AAP leader.

The ED counsel had told the court that the agency had evidence showing that Sisodia had planted emails, which have been received in not only the official email account of the Excise Department, but also in his personal email account. It was stated that the content of the emails was given by Manish Sisodia, which went in line with his agenda.

After the CBI summons to Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party will address a press conference at 6 PM today.

Taking to Twitter, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “There will definitely be an end to tyranny. I will hold a press conference at 6 PM in the matter regarding the summoning of Kejriwal by the CBI”.

On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal has also been summoned by the Goa police on 27th April, regarding a case of an alleged defacement of a public property.
