CM Eknath Shinde should resign before handing over the keys of the treasury to a robber: Nana Patole

Mumbai: The Shinde-Fadnavis government has taken a wrong step by appointing a builder named Ajay Ashar as the vice-chairman of the Maharashtra Information and Transformation Organization like ‘Mitra’ which was set up on the lines of the NITI aayog in the centre.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole has demanded that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde should resign first if a robber like Ajay Ashar is being given the keys to the state treasury.

Criticising the Shinde-Fadnavis government in this regard, Congress state president Nana Patole said during the MVA government, BJP MLA Ashish Shelar had raised a question asking who is Ajay Ashar who takes all the decisions of the urban development department. Devendra Fadnavis who was the leader of the opposition at that time had also raised similar objections, Patole said in release today.

Now, how can the Shinde-Fadnavis government appoint the same looter as the vice-chairman in an important body like Niti Aayog and also give him a cabinet rank?

Has Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also agreed to the appointment of Ajay Ashar? Just like there is an attempt to hand over a few villages in Maharashtra to Karnataka, industries are being sent to Gujarat and now they want to loot the state treasury too ? They should give answers to the public.

The Bharatiya Janata Party had raised objections about Ajay Ashar during the Mahavikas Aghadi government. So how has BJP changed its mind now? How appropriate is it to hand over the treasury of the state to the same person who was being questioned till yesterday? Is the BJP also benefiting from this appointment? All these questions must be disclosed. The Congress party is strongly opposed to a robber being appointed to this important post. The Congress state president said that he will raise his voice on this question in the winter sessions as well.
