Death toll among Israelis from escalation with Palestine tops 1,300 people

Jerusalem: The death toll for Israeli citizens killed in the ongoing escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has exceeded 1,300 people, Israeli media reported on Thursday.

Around 3,300 Israelis have been injured, including 350 seriously, and 28 in a critical condition, public broadcaster Kan reported.

On Wednesday, The Times of Israel reported that the death toll on the Israeli side exceeded 1,200 people.

On October 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip, prompting Israel to declare a state of war the following day and launch retaliatory strikes. On Monday, Israel ordered a full blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, stopping supplies of water, food and fuel.

A spokesperson for the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Thursday that Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip left some 1,200 people dead and around 5,600 wounded
