Chandigarh: Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Sonipat Congress MLA Surinder Panwar and his son in connection with alleged illegal mining and money laundering case, sources said on Saturday.
The father-son duo, Surinder Panwar and his son, were taken to Ambala to be produced before a special court and to seek their remand.
Panwar is close to leader of opposition in Harayana Assembly Bhupinder Singh Hooda. With the assembly election in the state is likely to be held in October, the move is bound to rattle the opposition.
