Naveen sanctions Rs 20 crore for development of Gupteswar Shiva Peeth

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 20 crore for transformation of Gupteswar Pitha, a famous Shiva Peeth of Koraput in the state

Chief Minister office sources here said all round development of the Peeth would be undertaken to make it one of the prominent as well as heritage and tourist destinations.

On the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik 5T Secretary V K Pandian had visited the Gupteswar Shiva Peeth in February last and directed the District Collector to prepared a Detail Project Report for the development, beautification of the temple after holding discussion with the local people, sevayats, people’s representative and members of the temple committee.

The Chief Minister sanctioned the money as per the reports of the District Collector.

As per the DPR, development of the main road of the temple, electrification, laying of khandelite stones on the footpath, beautification of the entrance gate of the temple, facilities for drinking water, toilets, new shops for vendors, plantations , anti -landslide steps would be taken up without any harm to the natural beauty of the spot.
