PM destroyed jobs through demonetisation, privatisation of PSUs: Congress

New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday launched a scathing attack at Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of destroying jobs through demonetisation, flawed GST and privatisation of PSUs.

“The job-seeking youth in this country know it is this PM who has destroyed lakhs and lakhs of jobs—both in government and private sector—through demonetisation, flawed GST, crippling of MSMEs and wholesale privatisation of PSUs,” said Congress general secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh, shortly after the PM virtually addressed the National Rozgar Mela and

distributed about 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in various Government departments and organisations.

Taking a swipe at the PM, the Congress MP said, “By personalising governance like never before, this PM has destroyed governance. He has taken it to new lows through his Rozgar Melas—as if he has personally created these jobs, as if he is personally paying those getting these jobs, and as if those getting these jobs should feel beholden to him and him alone.”

The Congress has been accusing the BJP government of failing to address the unemployment problem.
