PM Modi, US First Lady attend special event on skilling

New Delhi/Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attended a special event related to skill development at the National Science Foundation, and was joined by US First Lady Jill Biden.

PM Modi in a tweet said he was honoured that the US First Lady joined the event.

“Honoured that @FLOTUS @DrBiden joined us in a special event relating to skill development. Skilling is a top priority for India and we are dedicated to creating a proficient workforce that can boost enterprise and value creation.”

The MEA spokesperson in a tweet said:

“Together in Skilling for Future.

PM @narendramodi & @FLOTUS @DrBiden participated in a unique event focused on promoting vocational education and skill development among youth.“

“PM & @FLOTUS discussed collaborative efforts aimed at creating workforce for the future. PM highlighted various initiatives undertaken by India to promote education, research & entrepreneurship.”

The US First Lady in a tweet said:

“Education is a cornerstone of the bond between the United States and India.

“Today, @narendramodi and I heard how our countries are empowering the next generation to learn and grow together to tackle global challenges.”
