Jaipur: Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and his wife Satyawati Mishra exercised their franchise at a polling centre here in Jaipur.

The vote was cast for the assembly election covering 199 seats on Saturday.

The Governor and his wife reached Mahatma Gandhi Government School Residency polling center located at Sardar Patel Marg, C Scheme Jaipur at 11.05 am and cast their vote.

Later, talking to the reporters, he said that voting is the sacred and most important function of democracy.

He appealed to all the voters of the state to exercise their franchise fearlessly.

He said that it is the fundamental responsibility of the citizens to exercise their franchise.

After voting, the Governor visited various places in Jaipur and called upon every section of the people eligible to vote to exercise their franchise for maximum participation of the common people in the great festival of democracy.
