Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot announces three new districts in state

On Friday, October 6, Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, announced the formation of new districts in the largest state of the country, yet again; the number being 3 this time. The new districts are Malpura, Sujangarh, and Kuchaman City. Now, Rajasthan will have a total of 53 distrricts.

Taking to X, Gehlot said, ‘As per public demand and recommendation of a high-level committee, three new districts will be created in Rajasthan. In future also, matters related to demarcation of districts will continue to be resolved in accordance with the recommendation of the high-level committee.’

Back in August, 2023, the Rajasthan government had formed 17 other new districts, and the new formations have now made the number of new districts in the state 20.
