Srinagar airport closed for civilian flights

Srinagar: Following the escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor, air travel in Srinagar and several other parts of north India has been closed on Wednesday.

Director Srinagar Airport Javed Anjum said the airfield is closed and no civilian flights will be operated from Srinagar Airport on Wednesday.

SpiceJet said due to the ongoing situation, airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala , Leh , Jammu , Srinagar, and Amritsar, are closed until further notice.

“Departures, arrivals, and consequential flights may be impacted. Passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly,” SpiceJet said in a post on X.

IndiGo also issued a travel advisory indicating that flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, and Bikaner are impacted due to changing airspace conditions in the region.
