Trinamool Congress stages protest over Adani issue

New Delhi: The All India Trinamool Congress on Tuesday staged a protest against the BJP-led government at the Centre over the Adani Group issue.

Member of Parliaments of the TMC including Saugata Roy held the demonstration in front of the LIC office here.

The MPs holding placards shouted slogans against the Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the matter.

“The PM should break his silence (over Adani issue),” they said.

Meanwhile, the party said,”PM Narendra Modi caters only to the rich by sacrificing the interests of the common Indian.”

Several Opposition parties including Congress and TMC have been demanding to the Centre to either constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) or set up an inquiry under the Chief Justice of Supreme Court to look into the Hindenburg Research report, which alleged that Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud over the course of decades.
