Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who normally maintains his balance in public, was seen abruptly replying to a seer’s comments on civic issues dogging in Mahadevapura constituency.

As the seer was levelling allegations on politicians’ lacklustre response to address civic issues, the perturbed Bommai abruptly requests the seer to pass on the microphone to him to respond to his remarks.

Bommai, who was sitting beside the seer, was clearly unhappy over Eshwaranandapuri Swamiji’s remarks on flooding and poor infrastructure, and blamed politicians for the problem.

The residents of Mahadevapura were ravaged by floods a few months back, and poor condition of roads and other infrastructure projects are rampant across Bengaluru.

“The elected representatives and BBMP officials visit the affected areas, only when it rains. Don’t the officials know what work to do. The chief minister said something good at that time…,” the seer said before passing on the microphone after Bommai asked for it.

Noticeably perturbed with the comments, Bommai said he is not like other Chief Ministers who only give assurances, but one who delivers on the promises made.

“It’s not an assurance. We made a scheme, provided funds and work is going on… I am not like other Chief Ministers who only give assurances. I am the kind of Chief Minister that delivers what I promise…,” the CM said.

Karnataka will go for elections later this year.
