200 new companies emerge in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi, tax collection up by 55%

While the COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected businesses all across the globe, 200 new companies emerged in the last 2 years in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi, which resulted in a 33% increase in electricity consumption and a 55% increase in the government’s revenue. Earlier to COVID-19 hitting the country, commercial electricity consumption every month was 15 crore units on an average. Now, it has hiked to more than 20 crore units. In 2020, the GST was 1425 crores, which reached 2269 crores in the first trimester of 2022.

The commercial region of Bhiwadi, situated in close proximity to Haryana in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, has attracted a lot of businesses from all across India and the world. Companies from many countries are operating in Bhiwadi. Also, the goods produced in Bhiwadi are exported to more than 100 countries. The highest investment in Bhiwadi is from Japan. An investment of 10 crores has been made by Honda cars, two-wheelers, and their subsidiary companies. Apart from this, France’s Saint-Gobain, Markem-Imaje, Lafarge Boral Gypsum; the USA’s Lutica; Germany’s Dr. Oatker and Okep; Korea’s Heenan; and UK’s Kapani are all engineering companies operating here.

It is also being expected that due to Diwali season approaching, tax collection from Bhiwadi will further increase this trimester.
