New Delhi: Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has assured Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik that the government is willing to have discussion with the wrestlers on their issues.

“The government is willing to have a discussion with the wrestlers on their issues. I have once again invited the wrestlers for the same,” Thakur tweeted late last night.

However, before this meeting, the wrestlers have made it clear that they will not accept anything less than the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, BJP MP and Wrestling Association President.

Before the meeting with Anurag Thakur, wrestler Sakshi Malik said,”we will see what the government proposes to us. Our main demand is the arrest of Brij Bhushan. If we like the government’s proposal, we will consult the other protesting leaders. We will not accept the

XYZ proposal of the government. We will not end our movement.”

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had called the wrestlers for talks.

The minister said on his twitter account on Tuesday.

” I have once again invited the wrestlers for this.” Thakur added.

Earlier, on June 3 the wrestlers had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

After this, on June 5, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat returned to their respective jobs in the Railways. However, the wrestlers had made it clear that they would continue the movement until women wrestlers get justice.
