The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekhar Rao, will inaugurate his party’s (Bharat Rashtra Samiti) Maharashtra state office in Nagpur on Thursday, June 15. This move comes after BRS has been making significant strides in the state, and has been actively pursuing a membership drive. BRS has also come up with party committees at different levels in the state, from the state to the village level. With making inroads in Maharashtra and witnessing an increase in the party’s popularity there, the membership drive has seen around 3.5 lakh new members, from 15,000 villages of the state.

On the occasion of this permanent party office inauguration, BRS will be joined by several senior leaders from various political parties, social activists, and eminent persons from various fields, in the presence of the party president, KCR. Discussions will follow in order to strengthen the party from grassroot levels, for which the Telangana CM will interact with local leaders as well.

Further, the BRS leadership is planning to open other party offices at Mumbai, Pune, and Shambhaji Nagar, for which suitable buildings are being looked for by the party. A training workshop will also be addressed by KCR on June 19, for BRS activists in Nanded.

The aggressive membership campaign of the BRS in Maharashtra, its increasing popularity, and its plans to set up more offices in the state clearly point towards the fact that it is possible for us to witness a new contender in the next Maharashtra State Assembly elections.
