Mumbai: Maharashtra state agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde said on Monday that the date for filing Prime Minister Crop Insurance has been extended up to August 3.
In a tweet on Monday, Munde stated that the last date for filing applications under the scheme was July 31, but now farmers can file them by August 3.
In this kharif season, farmers have responded well to paying crop insurance for one rupee, and so far, more than 1.5 crore farmers have filled out insurance applications as of this morning.
In order not to delay the insurance payment of any farmer due to technical reasons, a 3-day extension, i.e., August 3, has been given for online insurance applications.
The rest of the farmers are requested to fill out their insurance application form online by August 3, Munde tweeted.
