New Delhi: As many as 81 foreign airlines are currently operating scheduled passenger services to and from the country, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Dr V K Singh told Rajya Sabha on Monday.
In a written reply in the Upper House, the Minister informed that 16 foreign airlines are operating cargo services to and from India.
Foreign carriers operating cargo services include China Airlines, Egypt Air, United Parcel Services (UPS) and Lufthansa cargo.
As per the written reply, 12 scheduled domestic airlines and five scheduled commuter operators together have a fleet size of 762 aircraft.
It was noted that GO Airlines (India) Ltd (Go First) is currently undergoing Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process as per Section 10 of Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code.
The airline has a fleet size of 54 aircraft, as per the reply.
