CM’s health condition stable: Hospital

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s condition was stable, said officials in Fortis Hospital on Friday.

According to a health bulletin released by the hospital, director & head of Department of Cardiology, Dr R K Jaswal has stated that today he conducted some heart-related tests and examination on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the results of which were still awaited.

The statement further said that due to an increase in pressure in the Chief Minister’s pulmonary artery, there was pressure on his heart, leading to irregular blood pressure.

“Currently, all vitals of the Chief Minister are completely stable. The doctor will make further decisions only after the results of the heart tests and examinations are available,” the statement said, adding that the chief minister was responding well to treatment, and it is hoped that his condition will improve soon.

CM Mann was admitted to Mohali hospital on Thursday for a routine medical check-up. Doctors conducted various tests and decided to keep him under overnight observation.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s Office, in a communique, said that the CM talked to the agitating students of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala on phone and assured that the state government is committed to deliver justice to them.

Students have been agitating since last five days, alleging that the Vice Chancellor Jai Shankar Singh violated the privacy of female students at the hostel during his visit. They have been demanding the resignation of the VC.
