Moscow: The European Union plans to impose restrictions on more than 45 Russian oil tankers as part of the 15th package of sanctions against Russia, Bloomberg reported citing documents.

More than 50 individuals and about 40 organisations may also be subject to sanctions, the report said,

The new set of measures, which can still be changed, also includes a ban on entry to European ports and access to risky shipping for more than 45 Russian oil tankers, the agency said.

It is noted that within the framework of the next package of sanctions, it is planned to introduce restrictions mainly against Russian military manufacturers, as well as against a number of Chinese companies that allegedly supply them with some parts for the production of drones.

Sanctions may also be imposed on Russian companies specialising in the transportation of oil, as well as on the military and company executives. In addition, the EU proposes to impose restrictions on organisations from Serbia, Iran, India, Thailand and the UAE that allegedly help the Russian Federation obtain military technology.

Finally, it is proposed to impose sanctions against North Korean military officials who are allegedly involved in sending their troops to Russia.

Permanent representatives of the EU member states will begin discussing the 15th package of sanctions against Russia at a meeting on November 27. Earlier, media reported that a new package of anti-Russian measures could be adopted by Brussels by the end of 2024.
