Kochi: Ryan Haig, who hails from Kerala, has secured the title of National Champion in the SX2 category at the National Supercross Championship, solidifying his place among the country’s top adventure bike riders.
The championship was held on an expansive supercross track set up at the FACT premises in Eloor on Wednesday.
The Kerala Finals witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 20,000 spectators, marking a milestone for motorsports in the state.
After successfully hosting five rounds in cities like Nashik, Bhopal, Pune, Coimbatore, and Bangalore, the championship concluded with the final round in Kochi. Ryan Haig, passionate about adventure bike riding since childhood, was supported in his journey by Bandidos Motorsports, a division of the Bandidos Group specialising in racing bike accessories.
Commenting on the event, Murshid Bandidos, co-founder of Bandidos Pitstop and one of the organisers of the event, said, “Our aim in hosting the championship final in Kochi was to popularise the sport of adventure racing in Kerala. We are committed to nurturing young talents and providing them with the resources to excel in this field.”
He added that the sport has seen growing interest among the youth in Kerala and that Bandidos Motorsports will continue to play a pivotal role in promoting it.
