Srinagar: It is shocking to learn that our Chief Reporter’s family has been threatened. We continue to keep the identity of our Chief Reporter under anonymity due to our intensive investigations in Kashmir on terrorism and drug trade.

GC reporter’s mother is a Sarpanch of a Village in Baramulla and his father is the Chairman of the Village Welfare Committee. The family is from the minority community in Kashmir. It is a minority community continuously under threat.

In her complaint to the J&K, Sarpanch expressed that she and her family are being threatened by Aiyaz Ahmed Lone. She further revealed that the individual threatening her family is known to be involved in anti-social and criminal activities in the past. Ahmed Lone also attended the Anti-CAA protests in Delhi.

She expressed her fear over the lives of her family and also elucidated that Aiyaz Ahmed Lone is communalising the environment in the village.

In a threat verbally issued to the Sarpanch and Chairman of the Village Committee, Lone reminded them about the recent death of Sarpanch Ajay Pandita and be careful about consequences.

A complaint has been filed with Jammu & Kashmir Police.

We continue to keep the identity of the family confidential until we can ensure adequate security to the family in the village through the government.
