New Delhi: At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney will pay an official visit to India from February 27 to March 2. This will be Prime Minister Carney’s first official visit to India since assuming office.
According to an official statement, Carney will arrive in Mumbai on February 27. Over the next two days, he is scheduled to participate in a series of business engagements, including interactions with Indian and Canadian CEOs, industry leaders, financial experts, innovators, educators, and representatives of Canadian pension funds operating in India.
Infrastructure financing, clean energy, and financial services are key areas of focus in the growing economic complementarities between India and Canada.
Prime Minister Carney will travel to New Delhi on March 1. On March 2, he and Prime Minister Modi will hold delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House.
The two leaders are expected to review progress under the India-Canada Strategic Partnership, building on their earlier meetings in Kananaskis in June 2025 and Johannesburg in November 2025.
