Chandrayaan-3’s lunar landing is expected on Aug 23: ISRO Chief

On Friday, July 14, the nation felt the waves of immense pride, enthusiasm, and ecstasy, with the successful launch of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, at 2.35 PM in the afternoon, on the heavy-lift LVM3- M4 rocket.

Addressing reporters after the historic moments of the launch, ISRO Chief, S Somanath said that Chandrayaan-3 will attempt the technically challenging soft lunar landing on August 23.

He added that the craft’s infusion into the lunar orbit has been planned from August 1. The soft landing has been planned at 5.47 PM on August 23, which will be over a month after the successful launch today.

Congratulating the entire team of the ISRO scientists, former ISRO Chief, Madhavan Nair, said, ‘I am sure that the first portion of the journey has started off very well. My compliments to the entire ISRO team.’ He added that the mission is on the dot, and he hoped that it will be a success.
