India, Philippines call for further strengthening of ties

New Delhi: India and the Philippines held the bilateral Policy Consultation Talks and Strategic Dialogue in New Delhi, during which both sides called for further strengthening of ties as they celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relationship.

The talks on Monday were co-chaired by Jaideep Mazumder, Secretary East in the MEA, and Theresa P. Lazaro, Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippines.

The MEA spokesperson in a post on X said:

“India-Philippines Policy Consultation Talks and Strategic Dialogue co-chaired by Secretary (East), MEA @Jaideepmazumder and @useclazaro @DFAPHL took place in Delhi on 9 September.

“The two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of engagements. Called for further strengthening ties as the two countries celebrate completion of 75 years of diplomatic relationship.”

Undersecretary Theresa P. Lazaro in a post said:

“Co-chaired productive back-to-back 14th Policy Consultations and 5th Strategic Dialogue with Secretary-East @JaideepMazumder in New Delhi. Our extensive exchange of views and consensus points will further usher Philippines-India collaboration into a new era.”
