NEP 2020 committed to transforming education system: Sikkim Governor

Gangtok: Stating that the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was committed to transforming the county’s education system, Sikkim Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has urged all stakeholders to work in mission mode at the grassroots level.

“The aim of education is to inculcate self-confidence and make citizens self-reliant. The new National Education Policy 2020 is committed to strengthening and transforming the country’s education system. Work should be done in mission mode at the grassroots level, bringing together teachers, students, and parents,” the Governor said while chairing a meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting at Raj Bhawan deliberated on the National Education Policy and three successful years of its implementation by the state government, an official source said on Thursday.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Education, R Telang presented the major points about the policy’s implementation along with the officers of’ the Samagra Shiksha’ Unit. The Governor dwelt on how best the policy could be carried forward.
