This election will score when democratic forces defeat dictatorial ones, says Kharge

New Delhi: As the last phase of General Election got underway, Congress President and senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday urged people to come out in large numbers saying that the festival of democracy will only be considered successful when democratic forces defeat dictatorial ones.

Kharge said that INDIA bloc is fighting the dictatorial forces with courage. The public have stood firmly with them as they want to see Congress party’s guarantees fulfilled.

On his social media post X, Kharge said, “Today when you press the EVM button for 57 seats in eight states and Union Territories, think about the Preamble of the Constitution — We the people of India –“.

The Rajya Sabha MP said, “Think about the future of our farmers, youth, workers, women, Dalits, tribals and backward classes. Will you push them into the quagmire of injustice, oppression and inequality for another five years or will you create a brighter, better and just future for them?”

He further said, “Remember if there is a Constitution, our basic fundamental rights will remain”.

While welcoming the first time voters, the Congress chief said that they have a big responsibility on their shoulders and urged them to vote in huge in huge numbers.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi on X said that the trends so far had clearly showed that INDIA bloc government was going to be formed in the country.

“I am proud that even in the scorching heat, all of you have come out to protect democracy and the Constitution. Even today please come out in large numbers and give your vote as the final blow to this government which has become a symbol of arrogance and tyranny”.

He said that the Sun on June 4 would bring a new dawn to the country.

It may be mentioned that several star candidates including Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is aiming a hat-trick from Varansi, Kangana Ranaut, Ravi Kishan, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Misa Bharti and Abhishek Bannerjee are among the 57 candidates whose fate will be sealed in the EVM.
