Mumbai: A Special PMLA Court on Monday extended the judicial custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for 14 days for his alleged involment in money laundering and financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl in Goregaon.
Raut was erlier being chargesheeted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A copy was handed over to him following the court’s directive.
The special court is presently hearing his bail plea which will now come up for hearing on Wednesday.
.The ED arrested Raut on August 1. He was remanded to judicial custody on August 8. A few days later his wife Varsha was also interrogated in the case.
Raut, 60, is a close aide of Shiv Sena president and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
