Campaign to free Punjab govt land of encroachments from June 1

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday announced that a campaign would be started from June 1 to free government land of encroachments.

In a tweet Mann said, the people who have encroached on Panchayat, Shamlat (common village land), Forest Department or any other government land in Punjab are requested to vacate their possession by May 31.

He added that the Punjab government will take strict legal action from June 1 to deal with illegal occupation. A special campaign will be launched to free government land of illegal encroachment.
